We offer a number of day trips to enhance your time with us. Experience authentic Sri Lanka on one of our fun days out amongst nature or in a bustling city.

Pinnawala – Elephant Orphanage

Price from USD$45pp for 2 people

The Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage is home to more than 90 elephants, who are free to roam the stunning natural beauty of the area. A trip to the orphanage gives you the opportunity to watch the elephants engage in natural behaviour, including bathing in the river. You can watch the calves being fed and even have the opportunity to feed some of the elephants too. We can take you to Pinnawala and bring you back to Negombo after your visit.

Negombo Lagoon – Muthurajawela Marsh Nature Reserve

Price from USD$16pp for 2 people

The Muthurajawela Visitor Centre is a community-based environmental visitor centre. Its profits are used to help conserve the flora and fauna of the Negombo Lagoon as well as the centuries-old local cultural traditions. It’s a fantastic place to visit if you are interested in responsible travel and supporting the local community and environment. Take a boat trip through the rich diversity of the wetlands, marvelling at the plant and animal life of the mangrove woodlands surrounding the Negombo Lagoon.

It links the river and the sea, making the water brackish and the birdlife abundant. Up the river are mangrove forests, home to monkeys and estuary crocodiles. You can take a 2-3 hour wildlife-viewing boat tour from the Muthurajawela Visitor Centre, located down a stretch of Dutch Canal. Also at the centre is a museum, and an interesting video introduction to the area.

The Sri Lankan capital of Colombo offers up culture, history, cuisine, and plenty of shopping opportunities.
